Online Volunteers are strong part of our team.
They run our engine room. They are our workhorses. Our Angels. And Friends. Many stay connected in heart and spirit long-term, some stay connected to our quest.
Our global staff collaborates closely with you, seeks to involve you strongly for your favorite activities, give you a good time, experience, evolve skills and keep learning curves, challenges, impact, benefits, references and certificates in balance. Some of our members have been inspired and empowered to change careers. Many of our global staff are volunteers also; please have patience and compassion 🙂

Our team members are driven by heartfelt passion for positive change, the love for our Earth and being able to make a contribution to healing our societies, people and planet. This is our most important asset for our work (view skills), uplifting communication, reliability and cooperation.

Our aim is to HELP amazing hero/ines scale their groundbreaking initiatives for people and planet.
FREE FROM EGO AMBITION
We work only with people who join us for THE CAUSE, not for adding a good name, logo and reference to their CV. We care very much for our volunteers: to give them a good time, uplifting vision, insights and staff meetings, as well as personal reference letters, official United Nations Online Volunteering certificates for those joining us via the UNOV program. As we do not always have open projects and receive a lot of requests (up to three per day), we have to be highly selective.
QUICK & RELIABLE COMMUNICATION
Online Volunteering – out of sight out of mind in different time zones and buzy lives – requires solid, swift and reliable communication. It is INDISPENSABLE that our online volunteers (A) respond within 1 or 2 days to our emails and (B) commit to the hours specified for the task. Of course, there’s the good life, surprises, exams, family matters, holidays… everything is flexible, in good spirit and can be negotiated. Negotiated means – communication. Keep in mind : We have to rock our mission!
A SPECIAL SKILL
The core of our work is to communicate the wonderful work and spirit (!) of the people pioneering amazing solutions. It is this spirit that resonates through their stories, videos, messages and speeches and that inspires other people to rise and take action also. Therefore, it is necessary that our team members involved in writing and translation connect with and feel this spirit also; the trick is to saturate and charge oneself with this spirit by immersing oneself in their presence through their authentic VIDEOS and stories. Our routine training for this is The Discovery Tour.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES & MAIN PROJECTS
RESEARCH & WRITING
Spreading Positive News is central part of our work. We have twelve years of experience, won prestigious international awards, trained and involved hundreds of online volunteer journalists, launched positive news magazines for several continents and in several languages. Our writers produce for our Online Magazine (view details), as well as short stories on hero/ines. (5+ hours per article)
TRANSLATION AND EDITING
Our Translation and Editing work is essential to our mission, and very exciting, since it deals with short SUCCESS STORIES OF HERO/INES, fit for use in EDUCATION, and with high potential for inspiring impact on people and planet. The stories can also be challenging, since the amazing passion / spirit / terminology typical of this new breed of North American changemakers is unknown to most people and thus new for their language and culture! (5+ hours per week during projects taking 4-16 weeks)
COMIC ARTISTS
We are turning our hero/ines’ stories into comics to make their divine example available to the very young, at homes, kindergartens, primary schools and public libraries. Artists can join us for a single comic. We like this series to be diverse. The style is to have an organic touch and a sense of beauty, which leaves enormous room for creativity, from pencil to digital, just not clinical. The layout is simple; 12 pages, each with one large image and two sentences; we provide the storyboard. No need to explain how lovely and precious this is. Your work is a gift to the world. Are you joining? (20+ hours per project)
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS
We have a bunch of contents that we can nicely edit (intro blurbs), polish up (graphics, facebook posters etc) and promote to various user groups, via our community of changemakers, teachers, youth groups, citizens, as well as cross-post to online media platforms and blogs, connect to news media, and also connect with action calls, major organization’s campaigns and petitions, our tools, media, live events and fundraisers. Wow, a ton! All we need is people rocking this, with a focus on their favorite role. (5+ hours weekly)
ONLINE EVENT MANAGERS
Live On Skype Meetings, UN Day Webcasts, Tribal Gatherings, Monthly Staff & Team Calls, Online Intervies, Conversations and Recordings with rockstar hero/ines, changemakers and experts! We seek people to help us unfold our massive potentials by taking responsible roles, and the time to set up the technical framework, timetable and manage the meetings and recordings. Are you up to this? (5+ hours per week)
PROJECT & TEAM LEADERS
have leading roles in specific projects, like our ONLINE MAGAZINE, and PROMOTION, and CROSS-POSTING STORIES ON MEDIA PLATFORMS, and SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY and OTHERS. As we are dealing with innovative contents and services that are highly important and can benefit many user groups, these are VERY EXCITING TASKS; they can be challenging, require time, creativity, learning and be a unique experience and reference. (1+ hours per day on average for 12 weeks minimum)
ONLINE MAGAZINE DEVELOPMENT TEAM
After three calm years of focussing on print media, we are relaunching our Online Magazine, in partnership with humankind’s leading visionaries in the field – featuring solutions, changemakers, interviews, strategies, free stuff like rocking videos, music, e-books, online and onsite events, aligned with United Nations Days of the month, cross-published as PDF, App and social media. This is huge, of grand long-term value for user groups in schools, media, UN programs and civil society – and it is mighty exciting! (1+ hours per day for 12 weeks minimum)
GRAPHIC DESIGN & LAYOUT for the MAGAZINE PDF EDITION
We are publishing our (Online) Magazine as PDF, too, or self-printing as BROCHURE / MAGAZINE and WALL DISPLAY reaching entire school communities daily, as well as adult communities at workplaces, offices, cafes and in public space. The PDF version is aligned with UN Days of the Month, thus has a THEMATIC FOCUS, giving it long-term value for many user groups in education, UN programs, civil society and media. Connecting via QR codes with the online version with complete articles, videos and multi-media contents gives us opportunity for attractive, lightweight, cool, fun, avantgarde artistic design. Awesomest! (10+ hours per week for 12 weeks minimum)
